12/19/98 Show, St. John's Church, Wharton NJ

This is the second show Contra hosted at St. John's church in Wharton and sported a much more extensive line-up.  This show also debuted Shawn Gray ('s brief stint) as Contra's second guitarist.  Shawn was a fellow music enthusiast, friends with Adam and John, and a fan of Contra so everybody thought it'd be cool to jam with him and see where it went from there.  Everybody had fun and liked that the second guitar added a powerful new layer to the songs so Shawn was asked to join the band.  Without him John may have never learned to count in a song.  Up until then Contra's band practices were organized chaos.  Songs would just sort of start haphazardly with everyone coming in at different times.  "Why don't you just count it in? That's the drummers job!" - Shawn.  Highlights of this show saw Contra cover Radiohead's Creep and Weezer's Say It Ain't So.
