Contra was not on this flyer or officially scheduled to play this show. Gobie prearranged a special Contra appearance much to the chagrin of the promoter/organizer who put the show together. Upon completion of Gobie's set Contra ran onstage and used Gobie's gear to play a couple songs. The tricky thing was that Gobie's drummer was left handed and had his drum kit oriented as such. In order to make the smooth Contra transition Gobie's singer would play drums on their last tune and their drummer would switch to vocals. Right before that song they switched the drums around to accommodate the new right handed drummer thus waisting no time when Contra was to take the stage. Contra played a very small set, two to four songs at most, one of which was AKA. It was a milestone show in that it was the first time Contra played and had the crow singing their song back to them. Also of note, this show featured two early performances from future NotRock alumni. The Numbskulls was the band that Ralph Chudley fronted and Bleeding The Sun was fronted by Bryan Culleny. This may be the first time the Contra boys, Ralph and Bryan all met each other.
